About the Hillcroft at Claymore project

The project area currently comprises approximately 1,151 dwellings, 1,123 of which are in public ownership with 28 privately owned dwellings.

The concept plan proposes a socially mixed community with 70% of dwellings for private ownership and the remaining 30% for public housing. The concept plan reflects the outcomes of an extensive process of consultation with the community and key stakeholders.

Key project outcomes

A key objective of the project is to ensure social planning together with place management is integrated with the physical and land use planning. Other deliverables include:

  • land for new private housing
  • redevelopment of existing housing
  • improved road and transport links
  • better utilisation of open space
  • integrated town centre (retail, community facilities and open space).

The concept plan application aims to provide approximately 1,490 dwellings upon completion of the project, comprised of the following:

  • retention of 140 existing dwellings each on a separate lot
  • provision of 207 new dwellings for Housing NSW
  • provision of 100 seniors housing units
  • 1,043 new dwellings and lots for private ownership.

Current status

Following approval of the development application for Stages 1 and 2, construction on these stages commenced in June 2015.
