Landcom's build-to-rent development in Bomaderry is one step closer to welcoming its first residents.
The 60-home development has now topped out, marking the completion of the building's highest structural level. Major concreting works are complete, roofing is underway and façade works will soon begin.,
Once complete, the development will provide a mix of apartment sizes designed to suit different household types, lifestyles and budgets.
At least 20 per cent of the homes will be offered as affordable rental housing for low- to moderate-income households, including key workers such as nurses, teachers, childcare educators and retail workers.
The development will help increase housing choice in the Shoalhaven, where many renting households are experiencing rental stress and vacancy rates remain low.
Located within walking distance of Bomaderry railway station, residents will have convenient access to transport, jobs, education and local services, supporting a well-connected community in a growing region.
The project forms part of the NSW Government's broader build-to-rent program, which is increasing housing choice and providing greater rental security for people who want to live and work in regional NSW.
Finding housing in Tweed Heads has become increasingly difficult, with one of the lowest rental vacancy rates in NSW.
