Mont St Quentin Oval: Community Picnic

Ten years ago, Edmondson Park was on Sydney’s urban fringe, and it was hard to picture its potential to become a thriving and desirable place accessible on the train line.

Edmondson Park as we know it, would not exist without Landcom’s vision and role in preparing a masterplan for the 425ha former defence site. After completing masterplanning in 2011, Landcom has partnered with the private sector to leverage the NSW Government’s investment in public infrastructure and drive housing supply to create a brand-new suburb.  Edmondson Park, has evolved into a thriving community with a mix of homes, shops, community amenities, and green spaces, all easily accessible via public transport.

On 17 August 2024, we celebrated the restoration of Mont St Quentin Oval with a community picnic.

This heritage-listed oval served as a parade ground for troops going to war and is part of the Ingleburn Military Heritage Precinct.

Over 500 locals joined us at the official opening enjoying everything the site offers, including the AFL field, BBQ facilities, the all-abilities playground and the new amenities building where the screening symbolises the service medal ribbons awarded to soldiers.
