Living it up by downsizing in Renwick

Elaine Jones, 74, and her husband, Geoff, 82, were the 100th purchasers of land at the masterplannedRenwick community last year and have now settled into their completed Allworth cottage home.

“Our former home in Mittagong was becoming hard for us to maintain so we were sought a cottage home on a smaller block at Renwick so we could enjoy the benefits of a brand new house,” said Elaine. “We have settled in nicely and already created our new garden and the neighbours are lovely so everything has worked out well for us,” she said.

“I’ve always maintained that the ideal residential community should contain a mix of generations and that’s exactly what is happening at Renwick with lots of families, young people and also older folk like us.”

New cottage homes are now selling at Renwick to meet demand from retirees and empty nesters looking to downsize their homes as well as first home buyers keen to enter the market. Interest in the new cottage homes has been high since 18 of them went on sale on January 25, 2014, with only a handful still available.

The new cottage lots range in size from 356m² to 535m², and priced from $355,000, including the $20,000 HAF rebate for eligible purchasers. First Home Buyers may also qualify for the NSW Government’s $15,000 First Home Owner’s Grant. Designed by builders Barrington Homes, Firstyle Homes, GJ Gardner, Hotondo Homes and Allworth Homes, the cottage homes offer two to four bedrooms and are designed to complement the Southern Highlands landscape.

“New residents at Renwick like Elaine and Geoff Jones are now enjoying the benefits of easy-to-manage lots, open spaces, rural vistas and affordable country living close to the heart of Mittagong.,” said General Manager for Corporate Marketing, Robert Sullivan.
