Landcom and Western Sydney University partner on startup program for the property sector

Landcom and Western Sydney University’s Launch Pad Business Incubator have launched an innovative business program, called Urban Futures, tailored to fast-track property industry startups.

Landcom Executive General Manager Matthew Beggs said the three-month Urban Futures accelerator will not only catalyse innovation within the property industry, but will also support Landcom and Western Sydney University’s shared priority of enhancing urban living in Western Sydney and Australia.

“We are proud to partner with Western Sydney University on this new accelerator program, which will introduce cutting-edge thinking to the sector. Opportunities lie in liveability, sustainability, and compliance and regulation management and our aim is to discover and help scale great ideas,” said Matthew Beggs.

Successful startup applicants will receive full Launch Pad and Landcom support, including networks and mentoring from industry and commercialisation experts, links to researchers and tech-partners, access to co-working and collaborative workspaces, business training, discounted business and legal services and links to funding opportunities and potential customers.

“Landcom and Western Sydney University Launch Pad share the common values of addressing environmental and social development issues within Western Sydney and its communities. This cutting-edge accelerator program reflects the strength of our alliance and working relationship,” said Don Wright, Head of Launch Pad Innovation Program with Western Sydney University.

The Landcom ‘Urban Futures’ Accelerator Program applications are currently open, the cut-off for applications is 2 March, 2020.
