Making new infrastructure happen for North Wilton
Residents now have a new place to meet and socialise with the opening of the of the new $7 million Newleaf Community Centre, called The Hub @Bonnyrigg (Dhanawi), after a ceremony on Monday 13 February 2023.
The Hub @Bonnyrigg (Dhanawi) will feature a community hall to host events and gatherings, meeting rooms for community groups and local service providers, and a range of family play spaces, all set within a large-scale community garden.
Landcom CEO Alex Wendler said The Hub @Bonnyrigg (Dhanawi) will form the heart of the renewed Bonnyrigg estate.
“Social infrastructure such as The Hub @Bonnyrigg (Dhanawi) is crucial for any community, creating vibrant and inclusive spaces where people can get to know their neighbours,” Mr Wendler said.
“Landcom’s developments stand the test of time because we create strong, resilient, and thriving communities – like Newleaf at Bonnyrigg.
“The opening of The Hub @Bonnyrigg represents the end of Landcom’s involvement in the redevelopment of Bonnyrigg and I am incredibly proud to be leaving on such a high note."
Mayor of Fairfield Frank Carbone said The Hub @ Bonnyrigg (Dhanawi) is a much needed facility for this area given the growth that is happening around it.
“The centre will allow people to come together to meet and celebrate, with fully accessible facilities and a community garden,” Clr Carbone said.
“We are proud to have worked together with Landcom to help design and deliver this important community hub for the residents.”
