Wentworth Point Ferry Terminal

17 Mar 2016

The first stage of the Wentworth Point integrated transport network upgrade program is underway with construction commencing for the Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Terminal. The need to expand the wharf facility services was identified during the rezoning process.

The upgrade is being managed and delivered by Transport for NSW and is an important milestone for the overall Wentworth Point Urban Activation Precinct (UAP) masterplan.

The redesign and construction of a larger ferry wharf will effectively double the capacity of the facility to meet the current and future travel demands of Wentworth Point's anticipated 10,000 residents. New piles and floating pontoons are required and will soon be integrated with revetment and foreshore works to be delivered by the UAP head civil contract.

Other transport initiatives required of the UAP include five local intersection upgrades, a regional traffic contribution for a new Westconnex Hill Road connection and new bus services connecting over the Homebush Bay Bridge, which is currently under construction.

The Ferry Wharf is scheduled for completion in May this year.
