A note from Homes for Homes NSW: Building Pathways out of Homelessness

“You’ve been there for me when I needed it most… I feel happier, safer, and I’m not constantly worrying about my kids.” – Emily, Homes for Homes recipient.

Right now in NSW, more than 35,000 people don’t have a safe place to sleep each night. Homelessness is complex, but we know change is possible when the community works together.

That’s why Homes for Homes is proud to partner with Landcom on Mondo at Edmondson Park. Landcom are committed to supporting the communities they build in. Properties in Mondo have a special promise with Homes for Homes to help fund safe and secure housing for people in need.

Homes for Homes supports people experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity and instability, by turning property sales into bricks and mortar change. With Homes for Homes, people like Emily can find security, community and wellbeing.

Emily was supported through Youth Futures, a community housing provider that received Homes for Homes funding. Thanks to this funding, Youth Futures was able to open Djinda, a purpose-built, 24/7 crisis accommodation service for young people such as Emily experiencing homelessness. Designed as a trauma-informed space, Djinda offers more than a safe place to sleep - it provides stability and a pathway forward for young people ready to rebuild.

Like Emily, young people across NSW are finding pathways forward through Homes for Homes funding. Homes for Homes has granted close to $3m in funding to 28 projects across the country, including NSW projects. These projects provide housing for over 400 people nationally.

Through a simple promise to donate 0.1% of their home’s sale price, properties registered with Homes for Homes generate funding for housing projects when they are next sold. These funds are granted to support organisations building homes for people experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity and marginalisation.

By including Mondo in the Homes for Homes initiative, Landcom is supporting a practical and scalable model designed to contribute funding for broader housing outcomes over time.

This partnership reflects Landcom’s commitment to delivering communities that create value beyond the homes themselves. For Mondo purchasers, it is a simple but powerful way for your home to help create lasting change. We hope you will join us in this solution and be part of a future where more Australians like Emily will have a safe, secure place to call home.

Mondo (Precinct 3)

Mondo has officially registered! An exciting milestone as we continue delivering new homes in Edmondson Park.

If you’ve purchased a Mondo lot, please contact your solicitor to finalise settlement. We’ll continue minor construction works in the area as we complete the final stages of delivery.

Precinct 9: Progressing roads, homes and open space

We’re progressing key works in Precinct 9 to help make more homes happen and support Edmondson Park’s growing community.

  • design for two major roads near Maxwells Creek is almost finished
  • these upgrades will unlock new land, creating capacity for future homes
  • subject to approvals, construction is expected to start in October 2026.

We’re also planning Station Park, a new green space just north of Edmondson Park Train Station

  • the park will transform a disused commuter car park into a welcoming community space
  • the design reflects feedback we heard from the community in late 2025
  • subject to approvals, construction is also targeted for October 2026.

Together, these projects will improve connections, create new open space and support more homes for the community.

Soldiers Parade: Upcoming utility works

We’re getting ready to restart utility works on Soldiers Parade between Buchan Avenue and Croatia Avenue.

  • works are expected to begin this month
  • construction will take around 4 to 6 weeks, weather permitting
  • these works will provide water and recycled water services to support future homes, including new apartments

We’ll work closely with our contractors to minimise disruption. You may notice some temporary traffic impacts during this time, and we appreciate your patience while we complete this important work.

Bardia Barracks: Supporting veterans and families

The historic Bardia Barracks in Ingleburn is being transformed into a Veterans’ and Families’ Hub, creating a place for care, connection and support.

The hub will provide:

  • health and wellbeing services
  • employment and housing support
  • a welcoming space for veterans and their families

Fitout works have now started, marking an important step towards opening this facility, which will support more than 19,000 veterans and their families across southwest Sydney.
