The Board of Landcom, the NSW Government property developer, today announced the appointment of Alex Wendler as the new CEO of Landcom.
Landcom Chair Peter Roberts said the Board believes Alex is an outstanding candidate to drive and deliver Landcom’s strategic plan and lead the business as we embark on a new chapter in the organisation’s history.
“Alex is an established leader in the property and infrastructure industry with experience in both the public and private sector,” Mr Roberts said.
“He has a track record of successfully developing projects in core Landcom business areas, having led urban renewal projects across the Transport cluster including city-changing precinct redevelopments at Sydney’s Central Station, Circular Quay, and Redfern North Eveleigh.
“Our partnerships remain core to the success of Landcom and a central priority will be to continue to strengthen our existing partnerships and build new ones as we look to grow the business.
“Alex has a clear mandate from the Board to continue to deliver more affordable and sustainable communities for the people of NSW with an unwavering focus on our customers, our partners, and our people.”
Incoming Landcom CEO Alex Wendler said he was excited by the opportunity to lead Landcom.
“Landcom is part of the fabric of NSW having delivered more than 100,000 homes in its 45-year history.
“I want to continue to build on Landcom’s strengths while at the same time levering my skills in the public and private spheres to make a difference.
“Tackling the issues of housing supply, affordability, and diversity will require partnerships across Government and with the private sector and it is important we maintain the momentum already underway.
“I also want to continue the focus on great places that are sustainable, integrated, and walkable whilst seeking innovations that strengthen outcomes for our customers and the property sector.
“We are in a period of significant technological, environmental and social change, and I look forward to ensuring Landcom remains at the forefront of the industry.”
