To coincide with the launch of Landcom’s boxed set of guidelines, Landcom hosted a conference Making great places - Putting the pieces together on Thursday 3 July 2008 which explored contemporary thinking in the design of the home, the neighbourhoods and the development of communities.
The Keynote address by Dr Keith Suter explored the Landcom guidelines in a global context.
We also gathered together leading theorists and practitioners to share their perspectives on putting the pieces together in the making of great places. Held in three concurrent sessions on the design of the home, the neighbourhood and the community each speaker shared their view on contemporary place making, challenges and opportunities for the future.
